Employee Spotlight: Raina Kornhauser

The FIELDBOSS team is made up of many hard working talented individuals with interesting stories to tell. In our Employee Spotlight series, you’ll meet some of these people, learn what they do, and how they keep FIELDBOSS exciting and fun.

This week we shine the spotlight on Raina Kornhauser, the office, and finance administrator for FIELDBOSS.

Raina has lived in Toronto her whole life. Prior to working at FIELDBOSS, Raina worked at many different places like a yoga studio, a hair salon, a synagogue, a tattoo parlor and even a startup. One could call her the face of FIELDBOSS, since she’s the first person you’ll see when you walk through our office doors.

In her spare time, Raina plays the harp, does yoga, reads, attends concerts and binges Netflix. Read on to find out more about Raina.

What do you love most about working at FB & how long have you been here?

I love the people that I work for and with; they are constantly helping me and encouraging me, and I have learned so much working with them. I also love that working here has opened me up to new areas of interest, like accounting, which is not something I ever thought I would pursue. I’ve been at RR for almost 10 months.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most? What is the number one challenge you face in your role?

I really enjoy how there is so much flexibility in my role and that it allows me to work with many different people here, and learn from them. The hardest thing is sitting at the front of the office in front of the doors. I get so cold in the winter I have to wear at least three layers and use a space heater.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

I went on Birthright to Israel when I was 18 and had the opportunity to travel the country by myself. It was truly a life-changing trip, both because of how inspiring the country is and how much I learned about myself. Also the beaches there are idyllic.

What TV shows/music/apps are you currently obsessed with right now?

Stranger Things (of course), Arcade Fire, (I just had the pleasure of seeing them in concert and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to), and the podcast My Favorite Murder (I feel like the title is self-explanatory).

If you could have a drink with anyone (fictional, alive, dead, famous, non-famous) who would it be and why?

Gertrude Stein, who was a writer and art collector in Paris in the 20’s. Her “salon” was the epicenter of the art scene there and she helped inspire and edit works by Picasso, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, and Matisse, among many others.

Words to live by — What are yours?
